Jon Barber's Complete
GoldenEye Times

Hey, check out my tiny little GE history tribute, it's the Saved Pages from old GE rankings.

Last Update: July 22nd, 2010

7-13-10 - Streets A 1:14! (On a 4:0 ratio, with just a little help from 2.x.) Who ever thought I would score a time worth 85 pts? Not me, that's for sure! Also lowered SA to a still-terrible 1:58.

11-12-08 - I sat down to some GE this week to celebrate the reign of our new updater, Thiradell. After a couple sessions I struck gold- a 6:1 ratio on a strong run resulted in a 1:15 Streets A!

8-25-04 - marsh's 00 Speed Run from the SDA was a real inspiration to me. 'If marsh can pull off these kind of times under all that pressure, with having just wasted 45 minutes if he messes us, surely I can use the same strats to PR.' Well, I'm not matching his times just yet, but I've used the motivation to PR on all of my slowest, oldest 00 levels. I've cut about 10 minutes so far.

3-15-04 - Well, it's spring break here, and I've been doing a little bit of GE, for some Agent Races were're having at night. Nice PR in Jungle, while I was practicing. Booyah! EDIT - Oh, got a new Caverns A time as well. And now, I just took Jungle down even further, w00t!

7-3-02 - Whee, got the BossMan's trick to work in Aztec, it improved my A time a little bit. I've come close to cutting way down on 00, but haven't quite put it all together. It'll come soon.

5-25-02 - Holy crap, I don't believe this! After playing some GE multi at my high school graduation party this afternoon, I just picked up the game and started doing some single player for kicks tonight. I ended up getting my first new time (:21 Bunker A) in exactly one year, to the day! Pure crazyness. I guess that in both cases I plan to get a little bit of GE going, then play on and off through the summer, before getting distracted by a new game and forgetting about GE. Last year it was Conker, this time it might be Super Monkey Ball. We'll just have to wait and see.

5-25-01 - I played GE alot today, and was shocked to see my total time fall by nearly 9 full minutes. I also hopped over 2 people in points, and 4 in time just from a days work. Looks like I'll be doing some more in GE a little later, but for now I'm hooked on Conker's BFD. Times I improved were Dam 00, Silo SA/00, Bunk2 SA, Cave SA, Cradle A/SA.

5-24 - Yup, just got my first new times in, what... 2 and a half months, or so. It's a 3:47 in Aztec SA, nothing that incredible, but I'm trying to cut down on some of my really slow SA and PA times. I'd like to get close to that 2:00:00 GE total sometime.

I now realize that I have made mistakes in the past with trying to compete for high scores. I always start out strong, but then fall back in the rankings after a while for one main reason: Other people keep improving! Well, I have come up with a brand new way to play that I'm going to use for GoldenEye. I'll only compete against the frozen times of what I like to call "GoldenEye- Old School". What is old school, you ask? Well, I'm talking about what you might call the Golden Age of GoldenEye, the time before the release of Perfect Dark (5-22-00). The times before the GE Elite and auto-updating, back in "the day" when we used to have to wait months and months on end for Wes and REX to update their pages. Ah, those were the days!

And so, all of the times and ranks discussed on this page will only refer back to this time in GE history, not to the actual present-day rankings. Now, what exactly are these Old School GE times? Well, I've gone and made a copy of REX's World Rankings for GE on the last update before the arrival of PD in the states. And here is the link, if you'd like to see it. Old School GE Ranks! And for the levels themselves, check out Wes's Old Records Frame. Then, go in a subtract "new" players who weren't around in early May '00, such as Wouter Jansen, Chris Rayola and Karl Jobst, and you pretty much get the Old School times. Ok, now, check out all of my times, along with their Old School rankings!

All times in blue are Old School top 20, and all of those wonderful red times are Old School top ten! The ranks for time are also Old School rankings, based on REX's page. My goal is to get 80-90% of all my times into that top 20 range, and to crack the top 15 in A, SA, 00, and Total time. And see, I've got a chance, 'cause no one else gets to improve, hehe!
