8-16-00 - Jake lost one more this morning. Kiss Wario Stadium goodbye, Jon has crashed the party with a 2"15. I'm currently working on getting the sub-7 second lap trick working for me. It's really hard, because of the angle of the wall right at the finish. About 5 times I have jumped the wall, but been pulled a few feet too far to the left and missed the lap because of that. And about 20 times I have jumped up on the wall, but been stuck on the ledge on top of the wall. And Lick-a-chu puts you on the wrong side of the track then... I have jumped pretty much all the other walls in the level, though. The final wall is easy, and the wall at about half-way is tough, but not too bad. Oh, I will hit this thing, I will hit it...

One glitch that I am starting to perfect is through the wall in DKJP. I used it to get a lap of 12"48, and a total of 1'54"51. Well, I hope to take down the final 6 levels that Jake still owns tonight and tomorrow. Where is this guy? Come on, man, step up to the plate! ~Jon

Update #2 - After the last update, I went on and beat Jake's time in Toad's Turnpike. Now I'm up 11 to 5 in 3-lap times. I swear, this guy has pulled a complete dissapearence act. Who does he think he is? The Hollow Man? Well, I'm sending him an E-mail to get his @$$ in gear right now.

8-15-00 - Another day, another 5 WR's that I steal from Jacob. What went down today? Well,

Luigi Raceway
Koopa Troopa Beach
Choco Mountain
Sherbert Land
Royal Raceway (by a whopping 17 seconds!)

I also improved Wario, with a 2"51. That was my first run that I've gotten over the wall all three laps, I'm sure I can challenge Jake there when I get more consistent at it. The new WR that will suprise most people is my Royal Raceway one. Well, I did it by using a glitch that I found at David Wonn's site (davidwonn.turokcave.com). It's really easy to do. When you go past the first right turn, go along next to the river a little over half way on the straightaway, then turn to the left, use a mushroom, and jump. If you do it right, you will hit the bottom of the wall on the other side, and fall into the water. Lick-a-tu will pick you up and put you on top of the jump, saving over 12 seconds each lap!

Will Jacob be able to make a come back? Jon has begun pulling away from him in the newly-updated World Rankings. He'll have to suck them up into his chest one time, and accept the challenge, lest he gets buried. ~Jon

8-14-00 - The tide has turned. The battle has been joined. The flood-gates have been burst wide open. The shoe is on the other foot. You can literally feel the momentum changing directions. It has done a strict about-face, and is now solely the possession of yours truly, Jon Barber.

What am I talking about? My MK64 playing, that's what. Today I stole WR's from Jake in total time for the following levels:

DK Jungle Parkway
Yoshi Valley
Banshee Boardwalk
Rainbow Road

And I've also come agonizingly close on the following levels:

Luigi Raceway
Moo Moo Farm
Kalamari Dessert
Choco Mountain
Bowser's Castle

Also, since I hold the WR's for ALL of the lap times, seeing as how Jake hasn't added them yet, I'm starting to feel good about my chances! Even when Jake does add those lap times, he might have a hard time dealing with 5'85 for Frappe, and a 1'23 for Rainbow, among others. Jake, get them dang times up! ~Jon
